Eclipse Here I come

Its official now!, I've started of the first phase of migration of all my Java Code from JBuilder to Eclipse. It is definately the best open source IDE around. I was really impressed by the functional / user-friendly design as well the level of customizability the user is allowed. With the availability of numerous plug-in's, it gives the power no other IDE can match. Obviously I am really excited about it, lets see how long it keeps my interested.
Well I am really having an overdose of IDE's, but then when you are simultaneously developing in 3 separate languages, I guess that doesnt leave you with much a choice, does it? . Since monday I've started work on a project using .NET, already working on a project using Java and another piece of work where I develop using PL/SQL. Its been fun so far, since I've never worked in any Microsoft Development Environment. I must say that the user-interface design of .NET is good, but then moving from the Java world to the .NET world is going to be confusing.
Also I am assuming that this is the last blog for the month. Nothing to assume, this is definately the last blog for the month.

Different Weekend

The weekend is not yet over, and yet there are a lot of to-do's that stand struck out. This was a weekend with a stark difference to the previous ones in 2004. There was no partying, socializing and booze, instead I spent the past 2 days trying to equip my apartment with some basic necessities, including furniture and other items. The quest for a couch took me to one too many yard-sales at 7:00 am in the morning after sleeping for just 4 hours. I came back from the yardsales with nothing but the entire works of Micheal Crichton and a few others.
The weekend also took me hiking to Page 99 (i.e. a trail at the intersection of Kildaire and Tryon) on Chetna's hiking trail book. It was really a fun experience except that we got kicked out in the end for breaking the rules and walking down a slope which was restricted.
There is still the entire sunday left with me. Lets see how much I get done.

First BLOG

Technically speaking this is not my first BLOG ever, I had a brief stint at mblog.com, but then the need for more flexibility and controls has made me move over to blogspot from movable type, not to speak about the fact that it is paid. As of today I think blogspot and movable type are one of the most complete, user-friendly and popular personal publishing system available. The very need to rant and compose thoughts into words has really attracted me to this concept of blogging. I think a lot of people do it for the "tell-value" factor as well. I am completely sure that there is'nt anyone who is ever going to read this, unless I might win the Nobel prize or kill a famous president (any ideas?), so in other words even though this log is online and is freely available , I am still guaranteed anonymity?, bullshit!. Nobody can guarantee anonymity on the web. The web is place of pseudo-anonymity, where you might feel that you are invisible, but infact the only thing invisible is the people who are looking and tracking you. But anyways, I am not sure where I going with all this conversation. It might be best if I get back to work! , Yes I am blogging from work.
